5 Revenue Cycle KPIs Every Practice Should Track Monthly

October 31, 2026 · 1 min read

You cannot improve what you do not measure. These five revenue cycle KPIs give you a clear picture of your practice’s financial health in minutes a month.

1. Net collection rate

Payments collected divided by allowed amounts. It shows how much of the money you are owed actually comes in. A commonly cited target is 95% or higher.

2. Days in A/R

How long, on average, it takes to get paid. Lower is better; many practices aim for under 40 days.

3. Denial rate

Percentage of claims denied on first submission. Track it by payer and by reason to find fixable patterns.

4. Clean claim rate

Percentage of claims accepted without edits or rejections. High clean-claim rates mean faster payment and less rework.

5. A/R over 90 days

The share of receivables older than 90 days. The older a claim gets, the less likely it is to be paid.

ClaimCrest builds simple Excel and Power BI dashboards that track these KPIs automatically. Ask us for a sample during your consultation.
